My First Beauty Pie Order
It happened! Last week I finally cracked and placed my first Beauty Pie order. The concept still confuses me, so I'll try my best to explain but a great summary is that it's basically the Costco of the beauty world?! You choose a membership which equals to a monthly spending allowance e.g. £5 per month = £50 per month to spend and so on up to £20 per month. However, being a member is vital because you pay 'member prices' for products - which are super discounted.
I chose the £10 per month membership which gives me £100 per month, but when I signed up (and they're still doing this!) they were doubling your monthly allowance for free so for this order I had a £200 allowance. Including delivery, this all cost me £38. Let's deep dive into what I bought...
This was a 'I need' purchase because I had just ran out of my Elemis Collagen Cleansing Balm - which I loved, so this had big boots to fill. At £15.58 it's more than half the price of Elemis so an absolute steal. First impressions were impressive, you get a lot of product and it comes with a muslin cloth and little scoop thing to scoop out the balm - so more than competitors! It takes my makeup off really well and a little goes a long way. I still need to double cleanse which I recommend doing anyway. It's not overly scented and doesn't irritate my skin. A solid 5/5 from me.
I purchased this because I was waiting until March payday to get my hair cut... well that did a 180. I'm super worried about the condition of my hair considering I bleach it so I wanted some Olaplex no3. This looks like it's very similar, especially the way it's described as a 'bond repairing strengthening formula, for body, elasticity and shine'. It doesn't disappoint either, I like how you only need to leave it on for 2-5 minutes and it makes my hair feel like silk. Only downside is that it feels like it takes a while to wash out and I worry that it leaves sulphates in my hair so a 4/5 from me.
I fancied a tinted moisturiser for work from home makeup/something lighter for days off. This packaging reminded me of the Laura Mercier one so thought it may be a dupe. Sadly it doesn't come in many shades and it's hard to suss out the shades on the website, I ordered medium which was too dark so I'm going to order the one below to mix them together. It's quite full coverage from what I imagine a tinted moisturiser to be, but doesn't feel heavy. I enjoy. 3/5 because of the shades.
This was added because I had money spare on my allowance and I've been on the hunt for a new fragrance, but I'm so fussy. To give some background, I like Le Labo, Laboratory Perfumes and Diptyque... so on the dark/wood with a bit of floral side. These are nice, but that's it. They smell gorgeous on first spray but then after a while it smells quite cheap. There is one which I like a lot more than the others but I can't ever remember which one it is. Therefore, a 2/5 from me but great idea as a way to try them and they can remain as handbag perfumes.
I've saved this til last because it's my absolute favourite thing from this order. My skin was getting really dry and dull and I wanted a little booster under my moisturiser in the morning. This is perfect, it's so lightweight, smooth, radiant and nourishing (yes, really). I use 2-3 pumps on my face and neck and it gives me the most gorgeous natural, non greasy glow. It also seems to of helped with pore reduction too! I really recommend to my dry-normal skin type gals, 5/5.
*Since my order, they have changed the packaging so don't be alarmed if it looks different.
So that's my order! I'm really excited for next month to get my new allowance and some more bits. If you would like to get involved, feel free use my link (here) to get your first month free! I also get a little bonus if you do that. I've added my wish list below if you need some inspo for your order!
